Sondheim Public Affairs Selection Day

I received my invitation a few weeks ago through email. I'm OOS but I'm so excited to attend selection day. Is anyone else going?

I am sooo jealous! I applied but did not move on. I hope you have fun!! Are you going to UMBC for sure?

I’m not sure-I got into the honors college and I liked UMBC a lot when I visited this past summer, but I got a lot more money from another school. I know the Sondheim program gives scholarships as well so if I get in and they give me a scholarship that is larger than the general scholarship that I got from UMBC, then UMBC may be a contender. And I’m sorry- but don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of options!

When did you hear back from the honors college?

My son heard back at the beginning of February. We’ll be back to visit the school on March 27 for Scholar Visit Day.

I heard back from the honors college at the end of January. I was accepted and I called them because I was surprised since they said all of their decisions would be mailed in march but they informed me that because so many people apply, they evaluate them in batches and all of them will be sent out by march 31st so if you haven’t been notified yet, don’t worry, it doesn’t indicate an acceptance or rejection.

Got my acceptance letter today!!!

Is there anyone who is currently in the program that can give us some insight? What was the interview like? What types of questions did they ask? How selective is the program after you make It past the first stage(I.e. invited to selection day)?

Bump 10char :-)

Just received my Sondheim acceptance! Anyone else?
