Soo... anybody gotten from a D to a B in calc or other class?

Based soley on tests, I have a D in calc because... well it's a long story. It's partially my fault and partially the school's but I don't want to get into detail.

Anyways is it possible to pull it up in like a month... At least to a B-? We've had 1 100 pnt test and 3 25 pnt quizes...

Share stories please!

Yeah, especially if (s)he gives extra credit (which most Calc teachers don't). You're done with Precalc review, which seems to have notoriously hard tests, so just do your homework, study like heck, and you should be fine. Of course, I am not responsible for any negative outcomes arising from listen to this advice.

I remember with one middle school teacher, I started out with an E and I had an A+ by the end of the quarter.

Lol. You're in calc right, if so what teacher do you have? And no she doesn't give extra credit. I did fine on the pre-calc review, the only reason I don't have an E.

I have AP Statistics with Guinta. Do you have Ludema?

Yes. WHY?? scared look

I went from a C to an A in diffeq...
Then again, our grade was based solely on the results of two tests, making such scary fluctuations possible.

It is definately possible. I brought my physics honors grade from a F to an A.

fizix, I know of a teacher who does a similar thing (but off of five tests over the course of a year).

I though you had Ludema because she was the only female Calc teacher I've heard of. I know a lot of people who have her.

Oh ok lol. I have like the worst grade in the class.

I went from a D to a high B in Algebra 2 Trig last year- stupid trigonometric identities messed me up!

Haha, trig identities were annoying. Luckily, they were not very prominent on the test-out that I took for Pre-Calc/Trig, so I mananged to pass.

In math, i feel maxed out at a B. What can I do to get it up to an A? How can I study for tests? I actually have one tomorrow so any help is appreciated.

did it in algebra 1 and 2, english last year, and from a D to an A in american history this year

I went from an F to an A in my sophomore science class. ^_^ It's doable, it just takes major hard work.

I just pulled my calc grade up 7 points based on one test. I studied so much and failed my AP bio quiz as a result (whoops). So now I have to focus on bio. This just creates a never-ending cycle where I'm constantly trying to pull my grades up. :D I need a motivation to do work. But it's definitely doable.

Can't resist: What is major hard work?

last year in english, i had a 55ish quiz avg and 65ish hw avg by progress report time (i hate english), but i buckled in and ended up with an 89 avg by the end of the marking period (it was tied for my highest in english that year)

this isn't really all that similar, but i recently turned in the only piece of homework that i was missing in spanish. this homework was worth only 10 points. it brought my grade up from a B to an A-

lol

i've got the same problem now.

my calc teacher gave us our first test last week (1 week before progress reports come out) and I was sick that day and spent no time studying b/c i had to study for other stuff. i flunked the test and now I have a D. I'm really not worried because I know I am gonna bring it up but what I'm ****ed about is that it's gonna show up on my progress report as a D and my parents will NEVER understand. so i have to either intercept it or make up a good story, like maybe the teacher didn't enter in my h/w or something.

Last three weeks of my spoh. year, I went from a 56 F to a 88 B. I've never worked so hard for a class in 3 weeks but it came up...
