Soo decent SAT's/ec's make up for not that decent gpa??

(please chance for Ivies, especially Cornell and UPenn (CAS), but also other good schools like Duke :))

Me: Indian Male (going to be a senior)
Private School (around 150 students in my grade)
Rank: school doesn't post but definitely in top 10%
GPA: 3.77 (unweighted)/4.0 after junior year

SCORES--
PSAT: 225
SAT: 2240---Math (740); Reading (730); Writing (770)
SAT II: Math II (780); probably taking Bio, Physics, and Math I in October

AP's:
took AP Calc AB and Ap US History this year but don't know the scores;
next year taking AP Bio, AP Pysch, Ap Calc BC, AP English

EC's:
-Varsity Tennis-
started first singles all years except this year; most likely will be first next year; won a couple tournaments; 1st team All Conference all 3 years; have a chance for a state ranking senior year

-Indian Classical Music (idk if colleges will even count this)- i've been singing this since i was 5, been to a couple competitions and got 2nd, go to 2 yearly exhibitions, given a concert in India and a mini-concert here

-Multicultural Club
-Chess Club
-NHS
-NSHS (National Spanish Honor Society)
-National Merit Semifinalist?
-volunteering in a hospital this summer (hope this doesn't look like im boosting or anything but i haven't had a chance since I usually visit India in the summer)
-loads of other community service stuff (nursing homes, soup kitchens, tutoring, senior groups, etc.)

Recommendations should be good considering i'm a cool guy ;), and I'm sure i could write a solid essay.

Thanks and I'd like to hear all your opinions, even the harsh ones D:...i know all these top schools are a reach but i want to know how much of a reach. Thanks again!!

Your SATs are pretty much the median at those schools so while they won’t kill you at them they won’t help either. It will be about where you rank (official or not) and how able your are to set yourself apart through your app. Being from an underrepresented state would help alot, an overrepresented state would make these schools tough with current stats (except a land grant school at Cornell if from NY).

oh ok thanks…well i’m from NJ so i guess that doesn’t help at all

Yeah, I think you have a fair shot at Cornell & UPenn. Like Redroses said, a lot of your stats fall into the median for those schools so go for it!
