Hi guys,
I turned in my application for special housing and indicated Goddard as my choice of interest. However, I have begun to doubt whether it's truly the right choice for me as even though I am passionate about community service and social entrepreneurship kinds of stuff I am very independent and often want to do things my own way (e.g. I don't engage in everything that I encounter, I often come up with my own ideas and try to implement them). Will I fit in Goddard or should I take back my app? What are the exact requirements for "passing" the year there and being able to transfer to Broome sophomore year? It's not like I am already being reluctant, I just want to know what exactly I am being signed up for. I will also have to get a job because my family is not exactly the richest kind and I will need to partially support myself through work. Will I have time for everything? (good grades, work, social service requirements at goddard, my own projects?)

You’re not required to do anything at Goddard; the requirements were eliminated this year. You can do as many of as few volunteering/stream events as you please. And there’s no way to fail goddard; if you’re really involved with events, you might be eligible to get credit for a one credit leadership course, but it’s not really anything.

And as for broome, I know a few people who aren’t living in goddard this year but are living in broome next year because it’s not that hard to get in, so I would worry about that.
