***!!! its before the 22nd but for some reason i have been already automatically been put on the liberty plan and cant change it!!!..its not the one i want…what should i do!!!

as huliaj said above…your dining plan can be changed during your first month at penn. no need to fret.

The same thing happened to me. I was waiting to pick a meal plan, but yesterday I was automatically assigned to the Liberty Plan.

omg they did that for me too!!! it says i selected it on 06/19/2009 but the deadline is 6/22!! they’re only supposed to do that if you miss the dead line. i’m calling and getting that changed.

i want the quaker plan because don’t like any of the dining dollars options: (i thought the sample menu someone posted for the new meal provider looked better)

Houston Market - Houston Hall, Perelman Quadrangle

A current rising junior at Penn told me that the Dining Dollars can be used to pay for meals anyway. In that case, it seems like the Liberty Plan is the best option. It allows you the extended freedom in deciding where and what to eat, and if you decide that you really love the meals and eat them like there is no tomorrow, then you can pay for them with your Dining Dollars.

you didn’t get the full story. If you choose meals > dollars now, you’re paying something like $1.50 per meal. If you want to use dollars to get meals, you pay $15 per meal (check the website if you don’t believe me).

I got placed into liberty as well, whats up with that??? Has anyone figured out what to do?

yes, as the above posters noted, just change it when you get on campus. (September)

Hey I wanted to ask, wouldn’t the most flexible option be just adding like $1k worth on your Penn card? Or are there certain advantages for going with a meal plan/downsides to the above (besides getting your card jacked)?

Only real advantage I’ve heard is that you don’t pay tax if you have a meal plan, whereas you have to pay tax if you’re paying in cash/dining dollars.

Well, freshmen are required to be on a meal plan.

June 29th - July 24th is early registration for courses. I don’t have an adviser yet though, did anyone else get info about this?

Are we supposed to be contacted by our advisors or can we contact them/ make our schedule without?

Oh alright, that changes everything then haha.

And yeah, my adviser contacted me today and we’ve been talking already so your advisers should soon.

the seas packet isnt getting mailed out until june 24th.

I went to Penn the other day and stepped into 1920 commons. I noticed that the cafeteria was kind of messy and dirty but only campers were there. During the school year is it clean?

**Which are the courses without finals? I think it’s either freshman seminars or critical writing seminars.

Thanks!!!
