Sooo I made a tiny/major(?) mistake on my EA app

So as goes the usual tension associated with waiting for a decision, I got SUPER paranoid today started going through every tiny aspect of my EA app that I submitted and I found a potentially huge error. Apparently my activities essay got cut off. My last three words of the essay are "I had made", but only "I ha" appear on the preview. When I pasted it, I SWORE I checked over it, but apparently I didn't catch it. I've been flipping out because U Chicago is my top choice. I mean it's only one word, but there's of course no way for the admissions people to know that only one word got cut off. For all they know, another 1000 words are missing :( (even though it's clear that it was the last sentence based on the intro clause). I'm going crazy...how bad is this?

Well, it’s real bad to have the handle “Harvard Hopeful” if Chicago is your first choice!

You can e-mail them an updated application. Imagine how many other kids this has happened to.

Honestly, if I were you, I wouldn’t worry about it. Think about it in a larger context: if you get rejected or deferred, it won’t be because a word was cut off from the last sentence of your activities essay.
Also, those reading your essay are smart people- capable of telling that the cut off wasn’t intentional, and also understanding of what you meant to say in your response. And, as mentioned above, it happens to a lot of people.
I’m not quite sure if emailing them is even worth it over such a petty issue. I’m sure they have much larger and more pertinent problems such as SATs/Transcripts/Teacher Recs having not been received yet, or people forgetting to fill out a certain part of the application altogether. Sending an email over such a small concern would only add further to their weighty workload, which might just end up frustrating them more than it might help you.

It’s not a big deal. Two words: clam fart.

I rest my case.

ugh i have the same problem except its a sentence -.-. should I email them on that

cooldad-seriously? A year ago in the mindset of a high schooler is a long time. Over a year when I created the account, I didn’t know like anything about colleges, and now I can’t change my name…so your sarcasm is not appreciated, thanks for the non-helpful advise.

As for everyone else, THANK YOU! I feel a little better. I think it’s too late to email since decisions come out 14 days from today, but I’ll just have to wait and see :)

ALL of my sentences that describe my activities are cut off. I don’t know why, but I’m not so worried about it.

^Adcoms can only see what you can see on the Common App preview.

I’m aware of this, when I pasted it, it was all there, but when i submitted it got cut off (I can’t do a preview, my browser doesn’t let me).

HEY DID ANYONE GET A LIKELY LETTER?

i was just made aware today that chicago passed those out on early rounds…so scared I didnt get one!!!

really? I’ve never heard that for UChicago
