I have been told (by other college admissions officers/alumni interviewers) that I am a very good interviewer. But of course, during my MIT interview, which is extremely important, I just did not do well. There were a lot of awkward moments and I just did not put my best foot forward. Will this kill my chances? As you can tell I'm a little distressed about the whole situation :P Ugh I wish I could just go back and re-do it!

A) A guy with three heads, super arrogant, twitchy, super depressed, etc.

B) Connected really deeply with your interviewer and ended up talking for two hours on all sorts of different topics.

Then the interview wont help nor hinder your application. Are good interviews better than bad ones? Obviously but the interview is less important than grades, EC’s or especially ESSAYS.

Don’t worry about it. The only purpose of the interview is to show you’re commited to MIT by scheduling your interview & to let your EC see if you’re a good match for MIT. It’s not that important.

My interview went a lot like “B” (what Hitman wrote.) It was great.

Sorry, I’ve just gotten the feeling that it isn’t near as important as everyone says. Not to say that you shouldn’t put 100 percent effort into doing well.
