What is something you would say that is soooo vassar.... that you only can find at Vassar

i would love to know this too.... interesting idea!

uhhh....how bout, sooooo not!

well... then what really sticks out about vassar? what makes vassar different from other LACs? what special programs/events distinguish it?

Middlebury got its language programs...
Swarthmore its underlying theme of the quackers

What does Vassar got... A thing.. where at you would say: that's why I went Vassar and not to another college

quirky, friendly, happy people!

Also, ultraliberalism maybe? It's rumoured that Vassar is a clothing optional school:D

in my vassar essay, i wrote about the self-instructional program in yiddish. then i realized that barnard had it too. hehe

Some of the friendliest people in America, a beautiful campus, close access to the city, and a well-rounded liberal arts education. Vassar is also a great name as far as grad schools and career prospects are concerned. All top liberal arts colleges are more or less the same with some swings in varous directions. I chose Vassar for its campus, its size and its emphasis on the arts.

I'm a Vassar alum and have visited the campus a few times over the past 20 years. While there have been several renovations and the addition of a state-of-the-art gym, some things... the really great things... remain constant: a music building that presents as a medieival castle, a library whose beauty can distract you from studying, pervasive mellow intelligence, and what I think is the most sooooo Vassar - the Main catwalks from which you can see the world's most awesome sunsets.

the catwalks are actually off-limits now.

what are the catwalks and why are they offlimits?

The catwalks are these little....catwalks on the roof of main. you used to be able to walk along them and stuff, but they closed them off to students a few years ago i believe, only recently. why they did so: i guess safety? i'm not 100% sure. I just wish they hadn't.
