last weekend 7/28 was parents weekend for 08 soph summer

some thoughts

the school was stunning...the trees were so grown in and green and the
nearby lakes were so blue...the big green was hopping with activity

hot hot hot...bad weekend for heat and humidity...many events were
not enjoyable cause air conditioning not working or none at all. again the school did not learn from the freshman o8 parents weekend and use proper
venues..the collis was hot and standing room only for summer showcase
while alumni hall was delighful for illusionist show..

summer showcase...what amazing talent within the o8 kids..great
singers, hip-hopdancers..great show..they deserved the proper
stage at the hop and not overheated collis

hanover is a just quaint..perfect college town .. food was great (kudos to lous)

the new dorms look great but not quite finished ..they blend in beautifully
with older facades

too many events on sat overlapping lectures with frat bbqs etc
while not enough events on friday afternoon and none on sunday

pres and mrs wright greeted every guest at their stunning backyard
breakfast..what a class act

NOW the important thing ...for my son and many others soph summer
is WORK..it is prejudged to be a fun filled frolic of summertime fun..
and for some it is..but for econ majors and others the added tension of immediately filling out cover letters, resumes and interviews for winter internships dominated the first couple of weeks..the upcoming chariot
races hopefully wil be a replacement for the now town/school banned tubestock ironically the chariot races were the tradition years ago till someone got hurt?

so for all you 10 and future 11s..the school is stunning in the summer ..
you made a great choice
hopefully that heat wave was a fluke..once the construction is finished
on the two dorms, the campus will be almost perfect with only the
new math building to finish hopefully soon
