I know this is a wierd question, but for those accepted, did your acceptances come in one of those big yellow envelopes?
@BDI123 no its a big white envelope of similar size
@sophie10000 yay! i cant wait to meet you!!! are you going to the accepted students day?
rejected
CONGRATS @sophie10000 !!!
No i might not go to Sophie
@sophie10000 might not go to sophie??? or do you mean just the accepted students day?
@cloud5343 @sophie10000 you should join the Sophie FB group for accepted students and then I would suggest you also join the groupme which you can get from FB. A lot of good information so far and they have a bunch of current students answering questions.
Not interested in Sophie anymore …
@SearchingSUNY hey, do you know if the FB group is view-able for people who didn’t get accepted…? im just kind of curious
@smartkitt I guess you could request to join the group and say you were accepted… the person running it technically doesn’t have info on who is accepted. But tbh, not much is happening on that page.
For those who like to keep up with stats: I was accepted with 105.25 gpa, top 1% rank, 1490 SAT, 31 ACT, many AP classes, strong extracurriculars and volunteering. my regents scores were pretty weak lol (low-mid 90s). Im Asian
(but I felt like my essays were the deciding factor!)
For future applicants: your essays are extremely important!
in my opinion essays are definitely more important because there are people who didnt get accepted with significantly higher sats, acts and goas than me yet i still fot in. i think the essays are a chance to show you so theyre crucial.
Does anyone know when the alternates will be informed?
Before when do you have to accept or decline the offer.
@Kandy the alternates will be informed any time between april 1st to may 15th
@cloud5343 hey, what were your stats, if you don’t mind.
hey did any of you guys get a letter from CUNY about a “test” to take around next week or later? and does anyone know if that test is required if you are going to Sophie?
no i dont mind!!! 1300 sat, 27 act, 95 gpa, many leadership positions, tons of volunteering and recommendation letters and unique essays. i tried to stand out a lot in my essays and interview and i think it worked
thank you @cloud5343 your stats are really good. Congrats once again on your acceptance!
