I don't know my ACT score because I took it with Sophie in December. I think I did pretty well tho. To ccc123 I'm Haitian and Cuban

so is everyone going to the accepted students lunch deal on the 13th??

what do you think you got trinity?

did anyone get a phone call today from a current SD student?

in :)

State of residency: New York
SAT1: Did terribly, 2080, or something around there.
ACT: 32
SAT2: Math I - 720 Chem - 680 French - I don't remember but low 600's
AP: English Language - 4 American History - 4 Taking Chem, Calc AB and English Literature this May.
HS Rank: My school doesn't rank, but my guidance counselor estimated that I was top 5%.
Essay, Recommendation letters, Interview: My essays were adored by my teachers, I'm a very good writer. My recommendations were from a Physics, English (I had her for 3 years), and Calc teacher. The 4th was from the president of my church youth group.
For my interview I had Dr. Wang and Dr. Lipper. The student interview went well, Dr. Wang's interview I thought went least well because I had such a hard time understanding him. Dr. Lipper's interview, however, went fabulously. We talked about our common interest in art most of the time, to be honest. I really think that played a big role in my acceptance.
ECs: I participate a lot in the youth group. Over 200 hours of volunteer work. French club. Newspaper.
Other: I was National Hispanic Scholarship Finalist. I've taken every Honors/AP class offered to me at my school. I participated in Harvard Summer School last summer. I'm just generally a well-rounded person and I think that made a difference.

Forgot my grades!
Weighted - 103

did anyone get a cuny email account...or does anyone know how to get it...just curious

im not so sure LMNOP. I guess once all your documents are in you can get one. That seems to make sense. You can always call or send an email asking the school.

Hi, I'm a junior who will probably be applying to the program next year. I just have a question for those of you who were interviewed. What types of questions were you guys asked by the Professors? Were you asked more about yourself or subjects regarding the medical field?

Hello, MetsFan09, I just been accepted to Sophie Davis about 4 weeks ago and I plan to attend there in the fall; We were asked more about ourselves, extracurricular activities and community service...but if I were you at this point I would be paying attention to doing well on SATs, ACTs, (if you live in ny) regents, and keeping up your gpa in junior year, research, and community service ...things that can get you the interview first...I also advise you to attend as many Sophie Davis information sessions and open houses

hi im a high school junior.i am un the process of aplying to the bridge to summer program but from previous messages someone said they wouldnt recommend it because it makes you miss out on high school and it really doesnt help you get in SD. Can anyone answer me?
also my school doesnt offer alot of ap classes, only 4. i,m taking one now because it is the only one i can take but next year i am going to take ap english. i wanted to take ap govt but because i might do the bridgeprogram i wont be abl to. could any1 give me advice. ANY? thanks

hey, i'll be attending sophie this fall as well :) i remember at my interview i had a professor who was really really intimidating..the interviews are half an hour each (3 of em) and he talked to me for a good 20 minutes about my research, he seemed really interested in it (he is the pharmacology professor for the program) and he basically wanted to see my thinking process...ie. if a patient has this disease, what sort of drug would you look for to treat it, but that part was kind of fun. then he asked my of course why i wanted to be a doctor and why i was so sure that thats the occupation for me, given that its way early to decide what you want to do with the rest of your life..basically if you apply to the program, make sure you are 100 percent sure that YOU, not your parents or anyone else, wants you to apply..and that you are fully committed to what it is. if you are 100 percent committed, it'll shine through and if youre not it seems they can weed people out pretty quickly, not to sound intimidating. if youve got any particular questions you can pm me

i've been reading through the forum, and i guess i'm a little worried.
