for the sophia davis program you could only have to submit the act and not your sat if you want or you have to submit both

Did anyone take any SAT subject tests for sohpie? What’s the general SAT scores needed as well?

sophie doesn’t require SAT IIs. but i’d consider a good score to be above 700.

is it true if you mantain a good gpa and are well rounded comparing to one rounded students who are academic achiever only w barely no exta cir. activities you have a shot-thanks

in that scenario, yes you do have a shot^

hey guys, I think if you guys have a great gpa, decent SAT and ACT scores, good medical based community service and leadership skills at your skool and real passion for medicine you’ll get in. I personally think I had like one of the lowest SAT scores out of everyone and I got accepted. Everyone I talked to had like 2000+ SAT scores…while mine was 1780. That doesn’t mean you shouldnt try to do well…but dont sweat it if u didnt get the score u would want. If u show ur passion, dedication, and humanitarian side in ur essay and interview…u will have a great chance of getting in.

^thats not really true.

I had a 2200, 34 act, 600 hours of medical volunteering, shadowing, 100 hours of research, president/on board of 4 clubs, and showed great interest in SD, and wasa rejected. My essays were great, as were my LOR’s.

ehhh…luck is also a factor cuz it was true for me and it may be for others.

so then could someone tell me what are they looking for in an applicant. like an averge student who shows great intrest in medicine however rounde with other activities-plz someone give me a idea, i am freaking out. like every one on this forum i am craxy abt this program, bt that might not be a good idea to tell them that in an interview lol!

I know what you mean Sierrapassion, I’m freaking out right now because I’m not sure what their looking for in an applicant. I’m crazy for this program as well. I’m not sure why az1698 didn’t get in with all those credentials…what othe programs were you looking at if I may ask?

If you have decent grades and a strong science/medical background, you are going to get an interview. In other words, if you are flagged as a “likely candidate”, they will interview you. It’s not definite that you will get in, but you stand out among the rest of the pool. Bottom line: do a good job presenting yourself at the interviews. That GREATLY determines your decision, possibly above everything else.

uhh…im just basing this on my own experience…nothing else. so dont credit me. =/

@dr. : have you made your decision to attend SD? :)

Iceman, I was debating between this program and Union, and it came down to Union
