Sophie Davis Pgm.

Hey, anyone here apply to Brooklyn College’s BA-MD program? I just got an interview for that. Haven’t heard from Sophie Davis yet though.

heyy congrats andyboy!! how did you hear from brooklyn. email or mail? im really getting nervous, because i think they are finishing up with those letters by now. does anyone know anything abt brooklyn

oh and desichick, apparently, they are doing interviews for sophie davis till the end of march, so u still have time, dont worry =)

Thanks zaara! Yeah I got it by e-mail on thursday.

oh no! that means i didnt even get an interview
when is ur interview?

Zara: I don’t know if they are done with handing out interviews. So don’t go my me. Maybe they still are. And mine is in like 2 weeks.

Did anyone have their interview yet?
If so, what kind of questions were asked?
Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

Got an interview on Tuesday!

Pretty psyched! Is it me, or does it seem like they’re accepting more people for interviews? A lot of kids at my school got them.

So I asked my friend what they ask. First off there are 3 interviewers: student, staff, and admin. The student interviews, from what i remember, are really chill. A couple friends who’ve already gone through told me that they weren’t “grilled” on their essays. Actually, one person told me she only got one or two questions on one essay… that was it for her.

But as mentioned previously on this forum, they got the “how would your best friend describe you” and the “what’s your biggest flaw/good quality”.

Do any of you guys think we should brush up on the current healthcare situation?

andyboy, i got my interview for brooklyn too. its next week. do u know any1 who has taken it? how is it?

hi this is my 1st post
I’m a junior and I’ve made up my mind SD is my first choice. I’m glad I finally found a thread that knows SD. it is so frustrating when people don’t know what you’re talking about.
ofcourse I live in NY & I was wondering since all of you guys have gone thru the application process, what are the best places/hospitals to volunteer or to research in NY. I found an internship program 4 the summer that I want to do but as far as research where could I find somewhere? anybody know places where I could work with an ob/gyn or cardiologist or any good places that you can recommend please do tell. Also any tips on applying to SD & the admission process?

I would really appreciate it and thanks in advance.

and @NewYorkr I emailed cuny for info and an application to Queensbridge to Medicine today

SD focuses alot on accepting minoritys! they normally reject non minorities & they like to help out those with a lower income , 1st generation.

@NewYorker: your grades are kind of low… work on your GPA, aim for a 90 & your chances will increase b/c a 84 isnt so good … but still deff apply, you never know!

I too am interested in SD & am a Junior but its really not my 1st choice (i dnt think you’re geting a true college experience)… thats just my opinion! (dont attack me! plz!)

sophie davis interview is 2 hrs long?? what type of questions should i expect?

Is Sophie Davis the name of the college, or is it just the name of the BS/MD program with CCNY and whatever medical school you decide to attend?

Sophie Davis is the name of the program within the City College of New York.
The Sophie Davis school has medical schools that are affiliated with, and those are the schools that you have the opportunity to attend. I believe each medical school interviews the candidates and looks at their academic record and divvies up the student population.

Hey have u all received emails for interviews for sophie yet? cuz i havent received anything…i only received a letter a long time ago stating that they received all my documents. No one from my school got nething yet that I know of. Does anyone when they give interview notifications until?

This is getting ridiculous. I still haven’t received an interview notification yet for Sophie. Why is it taking so long? I applied early too. And every time I call them to ask for my status they give me this attitude and give me totally random answers to my questions.

Oh wow that sucks. Everytime I try to call no one answers. Idk. I mean I got a brooklyn bamd interview notification before sophie and I applied to both around the same time.

@doglover- hi! im a junior & im super interstd in the ba/md brookyln college & well since u got the interview i was wondering if u culd plz share ur stats! i think i hav a nice chance of gettin in… any advice?

pretty much ba/md looks for 1400+ out of 1600 SAT scores and they usually appreciate 95+ unweighted GPA. Scoring 700+ on a biology SAT 2 and a math SAT 2 will help you.

do dey look at the ACT (im considering taking it) ?
because i have a 99.49 (as a junior so far) but my SAT scores (from practice exams) dont resemble my level of intelligence  … i deff hav the grades but the SAT score is shaky
