My son is a freshman and has to amke housing decisions. There are 6 guys who want to be together so they are looking at university apartments. Lowest lottery number is 1000 however. any ideas?

1000 is a decent number. They could probably get a suite.

Hi, I’m a Peer Advisor with Pitt’s School of Arts and Sciences. If your son wants to live with five other people, he can apply for a six-person suite in either McCormick or Bruce Hall on lower campus. Sutherland also offers six-person suites on upper campus, but Sutherland is normally a competitive dorm to try to get rooms in. There are other residence halls on campus with different size suites, but that would mean his six person group would have to split up. Here’s the link to the housing website for more info:

I hope this helps!

I would definitely request a cathedral dorm suite in either McCormick or Bruce as soon as he can. My boyfriend has lived in a 6 person suite in Bruce with his friends for 2 years and its probably the coolest suite a student could have, its right next to classes and everyone always wants to hang out in it.

My friend has number 94 in the sophomore lottery numbers and we want to get one of the 3-person apartments in bouquet gardens that they are building now. we are all sophomores and my friend who has 94 is the best number out of the 3 of us. anyone with experience, think we’ll be able to get it? also does anyone know if the 3 person apartments will be the same size everywhere(living room, kitchen, etc) with just one less bedroom?

Some three-person apartments have two bedrooms: one for two people and a single. I don’t know about the new apts.
