Papa - Assuming you stay on this track, do well on your SAT's or ACT, and don't totally bomb the AP tests, you will get in. Probably even be eligible for a fair amount of scholarship money, although admittedly I expect Tulane's stats to continue to rise and therefore it will get more competitive. But you cannot control that, just keep doing well. The only thing I noticed is you have AP English both Junior and Senior year, I think you probably meant AP Calc senior year. If not, you should take Calc, AP or otherwise. Don't worry about beefing up awards, there isn't much you can do except add them if you get them. But by this description you are a strong candidate.

Many thank yous! They are two different AP english classes, and I forgot to add my GPA is 3.8584 W, so I will hopefully get that up. You do recomend taking AP Calc over statistics? becuase I will be in regular Precalc and I think statistics would be slightly easier.

Probably doesn't matter about the Calc versus Stats. If you don't place out by taking AP, you will end up taking either again anyway, most likely. Most important is that you have the 4 years of math. Yes, I think you will need to get that GPA up to insure your chances. Good luck, just remember when you get tired of studying and want to slack off to do something else, you only get one shot at this. Can't go back.

That is exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks so much.

Papa, I think fallenchemist might be mistaken about the calc vs. stats.
Please see:

Which “Looks Better”–Calc, Stats, or Computer Science? - Ask The Dean

Most people would say Calc would look better, and most colleges would probably agree.

Nice reference, rockerguy. I don't disagree, as you can tell I was slightly leaning toward Calc also. But I think in the end it is such a slight difference, as long as you have the 4 years of math. Especially if it was AP Stats vs. regular Calc., I think that would be a close call, your reference notwithstanding. I guess the bottom line is, you can't go wrong taking Calc unless math really isn't your thing and you think you might pull a C in it. Then I would definitely opt for the higher grade, assuming your Stats course is easier. That isn't always the case, either. Only you can judge, Papa. You know the teachers and the overall layout, and your own abilities. This is where honest conversations with teachers and counselors can help. Good luck!

take both, i thought that's what a lot of people did anyways.

great reference rockerguy; thats almost exactly my case. I'm not too much of a math person, so both might not be the best idea for me, however if i need the ap class for my gpa or something I'll keep it in mind.

Thanks to everyone!
