Algebra 2 Regents
Global History 10H (school doesn’t offer AP World)

English 10H
Select Chorus (honors level chorus)/Gym
AP Human Geography (self study)
AP World History (self study)
SAT Subject Tests: World History, Chem, Math 1
**NOTE: I finished Spanish 3H as a freshman and I’ve decided not take Spanish since my school only offers college Spanish which is the biggest joke
Not good enough!!! I took AP World History, AP Calculus BC, AP Chemistry, AP English Language and Composition,
AP Spanish and AP Computer Science. Try to do better!! Self-study more AP courses!!!
My school doesn’t offer AP World or Chemistry and you can’t take AP English Lang until junior year. I was thinking about AP Spanish but I’m not sure
I disagree with @bhargavaa . Since the formatting got a little messed up I’ll type it out here:

If it were possible to take Algebra 2 H, and you are not terrible at math, take Algebra 2 H. Also, there is no need to self study AP World and AP Human Geo unless if you actually enjoy history or if you want to receive credit for it in college. Since AP Human Geo is often considered a joke, many colleges don’t even offer credit for it. Otherwise, you’re doing fine, although I don’t see how college Spanish is a bad thing. Since your school offers AP Spanish, if you are at the level of AP Spanish, take it. Some colleges require 3 years of the same language (not just up to that level).
If I’d rate this on a scale of 1-10, and if your school does not offer any “good” APs sophomore year (mine doesn’t), I’d give it about a 8, mainly due to Algebra 2.
I suggest not taking Math 1, and taking Math 2 next year or after you complete Algebra 2.
Thank you so much!! Unfortunately I didn’t do super well in Geometry H (87) and it didn’t met my schools criteria for Algebra 2H.
About the self studies, I plan to major in political science or history and I thoroughly enjoy learning about history. I figured that since my school doesn’t offer AP World I could easily self study it since it matches to what I’d be learning in global. And yeah I kinda just wanted to AP Human as an extra AP class.
The College Spanish at my school is taught by an awful teacher, and you have to pay a crazy price to take it. You get college credit but the teacher does absolutely nothing and my parents didn’t want to pay for an expensive useless class. Also I was planning on taking AP Spanish but not enough kids are taking it so it won’t be offered at my school this year. I was thinking of self studying it not sure though.
The Subject Tests I listed are the ones I hope to take at the end of next year. I was thinking to take Math 2 junior year, after pre calc. I just took biology and am pending results.
Life hack: you don’t need to take the AP exam if you’re genuinely curious about the subject and want to learn more. Sure, the prep books could be interesting resources, but taking AP exams (and paying for them!) isn’t necessary.

It’s an average (fine) schedule for someone preparing for a 4-year selective college. It’s too bad you didn’t get into Algebra2H but that’s okay. Preparing APWH in parrallel to Global makes sense but you’ll likely need to study the format and the DBQs very thoroughly. At worst since you didn’t take the class you don’t have to report the score and all AP social science are based on the same format so it’ll be useful when you take APUSH junior year (assuming you’ll get into that class). Not taking Spanish is a problem. Is there any way you can take Spanish somewhere else (weekend class at a community college perhaps?)
Subject tests: pick from Spanish (you could take it whenever; you want to show your knowledge of Spanish and perhaps that’ll motivate you to continue a bit throughout the year, till you take the test, so that you don’t lose it and can take AP Spanish next year); World History, Chem (in May or June) - and if need be Math 2 at the end of Junior year. Only present subjects where you’re sure you’ll get a high score (700+). Three or 4 700+ look really nice, but all you need is two of them, so don’t overdo it.
What could you do instead? Because if I’m already studying and learning I might as well take a test
Thanks! About the Spanish, I love Spanish, and I do actually want to continue if possible. Unfortunately my school doesn’t offer Spanish 4 or AP Spanish, only an overly expensive mediocre class with a bad teacher. However I was looking into maybe taking it at a local college but we’ll see on how busy I get! I definitely want to take the subject test and I plan to tutor again this year in Spanish and Italian (my 1st language).
Yes I just biology in June but I don’t feel I did well enough. We’ll see though!
If it’s possible, you could take an online Spanish class, but make sure to check your school’s policies regarding online classes before this happens.
Self-Study more!!! @raventhemage
Wait for what? @bhargavaa
@bhargavaa Colleges don’t really care about AP classes you self studied, they only care if you took the most rigorous schedule your school offers.
Self-studying shows that you are dedicated and willing to spend time outside of school to learn.
Your schedule is pretty good!
Don’t self-study APs. Colleges don’t care that much- just take the most challenging courses you can at your high school.
Well I guess you are not a grinder!!!
People always forget that there are 24 hours in a day. Who needs sleep anyway???
I’m quite the opposite actually. I do cross country and track, participate in Debate, Model UN, Student Government, write for the school newspaper, watch my 4 younger sisters when my single mom is working. I self study for Subject Tests and APs when I’m only a going to be a sophmore. I take the hardest classes available when possible and I work 2 jobs to help my family out. I go to church every Sunday and teach religion classes, as well as volunteering at the homeless shelter. I’m very aware of the 24 hours in a day and the 4 hours I sleep.
