Sophomore- chances @ UCLA, Berkely, NYU????

hey!
i'm a sophomore with a 4.55 gpa, vice-prez of my class, president of model united nations, on varsity tennis team, treasurer of key club, and will most likely continue to have as many positions as these my junior and senior year.

i've won many leadership awards, and have been chosen for many leadership conferences.

i'm ranked 22/518 in my class, and my school is a california distinguished school.

i did average on the old sat.

what are my chances for UCLA (first choice), NYU (2nd), and Berkeley (3rd)??????

somebody please tell me what they think............

What do you want to major in?

Way to early to tell since your gpa and sat scores are likely to change. Wait until junior year.

i'll most likely want to major in poly sci.
if i choose a less popular major, do my chances better?

In my opinion you do have a better chance with a less popular major, but I think that UCLA and Berkeley would be the best.

do u think i have a good chance of getting into either of those two, or should i be worried?

How does you school calculate your GPA?

honors and ap classes get a 5 for an A instead of thr usual 4. i'm in all the honors and ap i can take at the moment as well

You should post your unweighted GPA, because that is what colleges use to compare your GPA to other applicants.

i'm about a 3.6 unweighted

actually i'ma 3.67 unweighted

Ok well if you just maintain a GPA around a 3.5+ and have a high solid SAT score you should be in good shape.

thank god! thanks so much!

aw4141:

Kind of hard to tell, but aim for a >4.0 weighted GPA and a 2100 SAT I.
