Sophomore Classes Balanced?

I’m looking into setting up my schedule for sophomore year, and my main concern is whether or not it will be balanced. Currently, I find myself without a lot of homework (one hour max) and breezing through my classes. For perspective, here are the classes I’m taking now as a freshman. (Quick side note - theology is required at my school.) I also took (and am taking) multiple classes through FLVS.

  1. English I Honors
  2. Algebra II Honors
  3. Biology I Honors
  4. Reading and Writing for College Success + Personal Fitness (both required electives)
  5. AP Human Geography
  6. Spanish I
  7. Theology 9 Online: Fitness Lifestyle Design, Latin I, Digital Info Tech, Web Design Honors, and User Interface Design Honors.

For my sophomore year, I am aiming to do a lot in school and on FLVS, and might consider taking DE at my local community college. Currently, I might aim to complete English or writing based credits at my local college… This might change before next academic year, though. Here’s what I have in mind currently concerning FLVS and regular schooling.

  1. English II Honors
  2. Pre-AP Pre-Calculus
  3. Chemistry I Honors
  4. AP Physics I
  5. AP World History
  6. Spanish II Honors
  7. Theology 10 Online: AP Computer Science A, AP Statistics, Latin II, and Latin III Honors. (I might take a certification course set in networking or database research. About half of the courses in this certification set are honors level.)

Once again, my biggest worry is not having it rigorous enough or the exact opposite. I work around 20-30 hours a week, so watching all that I am taking on next year is a large concern of mine. I am shooting to get to the top of my class, and I’m hoping that this is the way to go.

Thanks!

I’d remove AP CS A and push it to next year, and would wait to enroll in AP stats till you got a handle on your 'class’s schedule as it’ll be SIGNIFICANTLY harder than what you have this year. So, I’d say current schedule okay + Latin online, then see if you can add AP stats.

I had talked to my guidance counselor about taking AP online (because I was worried too), but she said the program that the state uses are easy. I already have a lot of experience with computer science, so that one will be a breeze. As for AP Stats, I might wait until I can I can gauge my classes’ difficulty.

Thank you so much, @MYOS1634!

No problem
