How can I get myself to a 2250+? If you got around my target on the SAT, how's you do it? I REALLY need help with the writing and CR sections

I was around a 1800. To improve my vocab, I studied Direct Hits Volumes 1 and 2. I read through the Barron’s SAT Writing Workbook and Silverturtle’s guide. Then, I did every test in the blue book and analyzed my mistakes. Got a 2310 on the SAT.

Miceman, that was very encouraging! I am stuck at the 1700’s, and want to achieve a 2200+. How long did it take you to jump from 1800 to 2310?

I am currently a junior and got a 1920 on my psat sophomore year and 2040 this year. I took the PSAT this year before I started to study, currently I am hovering at 2200 on College board practice tests! Expect your score to improve 60-100 points on its own just through what you will learn this year in math and English. If you start now, you will kick A** next year on the real ones! Start reading the NY Times and Economist, 1 or 2 articles a day in a variety of topics. Get the Sparknotes 1000 word list (google it) and memorize 5 words a day, add 5 the next day, this will compound and add to your vocab. It will suck if you start late like me and memorize 40 words a day to get ready! Practice, practice, practice. Buy a college board official book and take a practice test each month. Do the SAT problem of the day. Since you have time, slowly improving your score overtime is plausible. It beats going apesh** at the last minute like me. haha!
