<p>Derek, we’re on the same boat. However, I do know one person who recently got accepted to an Ivy League and she was not even in the top 10 rankings of her class, nor did she take rigorous courses. She got plenty of B’s, maybe even a C. However, she had a lot of leadership positions and very good E.C.'s…I don’t know about her SATs or anything but I doubt those scores were extremely high. So, I guess there’s hope. But luck is also a factor.</p>
<p>Yeah but are most accepted applicants really that amazing in everything. or does college confidential just have the amazing of the amazing on the results thread. and if this is true, why are amazing people still getting rejected?</p>

<p>Does anyone know which of the top schools do admissions based on majors? so like how are you competing with? everyone who is applying in general or everyone who is applying to your specific major? I’m specifically looking for this answer in regards to the ivies, uchicago, northwester, stanford, MIT, and these types of schools. Thanks!</p>
