I'm a freshman right now and am worried about who I'm allowed to room with as an honors student. I know that Honors students get to live in WVF, and this year the leftovers that don't fit go to WVC. However, does that mean that I can only request suitemates that are honors students or can I pull non-honors into WVF/C?

I really want to be close to campus and live in honors dorming (since that's what all the extra work and listening to maureen is for :D) but I don't want to dorm with only honors if all my close friends are non honors.

Sorry, all students living in honors housing must be honors students And I don’t think it’s that the leftovers go to West Village C-- I think that C is harder to get into since it has singles.

I had this problem last year. I wanted to live in honors housing, but my roommate and I wanted to live with our non-honors friends. For some reason, I didn’t realize that there were non-honors enhanced dorms. I looooooove living in Dav this year. It sucks that we’re not on campus, but I like it so much better than IV. We’re so much closer to Curry and the library. And the dorm is really nice, definitely on par with WVF in my opinion (WVF is just newer). And you can definitely still try to get into the other West Villages.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Yeah, agree with above. WVC is sometimes considered better than WVF because of the singles, and it is definitely not “leftovers”. For example, honors housing is NOT given to all honors upperclassmen. Fortunately, it usually isn’t too hard to get it anyway, because of so many people in your situation- where they want to live with nonhonors students. To have even 1 nonhonors student in your suite (even if you have a really good number and want to pull people in), you have to be outside of honors housing.
