I'm a rising sophomore, currently interning at one of the largest institutional banks in the country's credit services team (we extend lines of credit to asset managers, PE firms etc and analyze their risk). It's a paid, structured internship that I was very lucky to have offered to me after just completing my freshman year, but my true interest lies in M&A. I want to try and parlay this into a sophomore year IBanking internship, but I know it's pretty difficult to get into as a sophomore. I'm not really at a target per say but my school ranks within the top 7 or so liberal arts colleges annually, and I have a GPA just under 3.5. I was wondering which (if any) of the summer analyst programs are more prone to taking sophomores with prior financial experience or if any have sophomore programs. I'm also a URM if that helps, I've heard of some programs for underrepresented types on wall street but don't really know where to look. Do I have enough of a shot to just apply to the typical programs as a sophomore?

Alright, so after looking around a little bit I’m going to be applying to Credit Suisse’s Douglas L Paul program and similar sophomore programs at Barclays and MS. Does anyone have experiences they’d like to share with any of those? And if I don’t get in, what should I look to as a “plan B”?
