Sophomore/Junior Year plan

True, you could, though masters programs may or may not be funded and PhD programs are a big commitment. Some of the colleges we toured had 4 year masters opportunities for students entering with a lot of college credits.

Good point, but if my undergraduate degree isn’t on scholarship, it will still cost lots either way (not sure of the delta, since it depends). I figure I’ll worry about it more once my March SAT score comes out in two months (if I’m still scoring low, I need to focus on English prep plus high school subjects sometimes).

FYI, SAT score is 1450 :frowning: 760M, 690 English

How is a 1450 :frowning: ???

So, unlikely to mean NMF level for PSAT? :frowning: I’m very sorry.
Did you retake in May?

Wait, why does it matter now? OP is a freshman, right?

@MYOS1634 MAYBE but it’d be cutting it close. Probably would get me the full ride at my state university. No, I’m not retaking until at least fall - this is already my 2nd time, I don’t need 3 by the end of frosh!

@awesomepolyglot yeah I’m a freshman. just finished my maths finals - may have pulled A’s, may not have

@awesomepolyglot : yes, OP is a freshman in high school, who’s already taking her math classes at a university. OP, with a nmsf score, would have been allowed to take more classes at her level. If she doesn’t make nmsf her parents won’t let her.

Oh, okay. Thanks! @MYOS1634

You’re a sharp freshman @CharlotteLetter . My 2 cents: Don’t graduate early, hone your standardized test taking and interpersonal skills during that time (even look to where you can apply your great math aptitude the next couple years) and shoot for a big scholarship via NM or targeted scholarships/ universities…they’re out there. And enjoy the adventure…best wishes.

Thanks @chargerparent - I’ll mainly focus on tests as regarding the actuarial battery, and will have to stick with my current uni for UG, but maybe for grad school I’ll get out to somewhere good.

Based on your scores freshman year, I have no doubt you’ll make nmf  And then you’ll have lots of choices open to you!

@MYOS1634 … except for the residency requirements. If I can just graduate in a semester at my local U (where I’ll have fulfilled the minimum-number of credit hours earned at the uni for my degree), I’m not going to sign up for two years at another state school (with an equally poor math program). Anyway, if I get NMF OR have a high enough SAT score, I should get a full ride at the state U

I disagree that all undergraduate schools will be ‘equally poor’ to your flagship. But you’ll have to dig a bit.

@MYOS1634 I was referring to state universities with guaranteed full rides for NMF, which are few and far between. Of course, with competitive merit, there will be much better schools.

Keep trying your utmost and the cc community will help you all they can.

Thanks @MYOS1634

FYI, both A’s in English and statistics as expected. No grades yet for diff eqs and linear algebra, but I needed C’s on their respective finals to get A’s in the classes.

No sweat then
What are the plans for the summer?

I’m doing biology at home (actually, I’m almost halfway done with it), English (at home, scheduling wouldn’t work at the CC), US history II (CC), probably music appreciation (CC)… reading for fun, holding a leadership position at a summer camp, piano, hiking, maybe swimming, hanging out with friends, relaxing. @MYOS1634

Woaaahh you’re busy!!!
Fingers crossed that 'swimming’incolved a trip to a lake
