My current scores are usually

Critical Reading 600-610 Only prep I've really done is making 10 index cards everyday since the summer before my sophomore year. Would love to know how score 770ish on this section

Math 720-790 I guess I've naturally just gotten the hang of this section, but really want to know how to get that exclusive 800. Basically no prep.

Writing 590-640 Varies with essay score really. Have not done prep at ALL for this section. I just have a lot of enmity for this section lol. Would like to know how to score 780ish on this section.

What is the best way to bring this up to a 2300+ score in 1 year?

Basically, just go out and grab the Blue Book (The official Collegeboard SAT book.) In the book there should be 8 practice tests in the back. Do those practice tests one at a time and evaluate your answers thoroughly. This will enable you to figure out why you got a question right/wrong so the mistake will not happen again.

If you can afford other prep books, go out and get them, but DO NOT do the practice tests in the backs. Only do practice tests from the producers of the SAT’s. Personally, I find Gruber’s the best for math, Baron’s is good for long passages on CR, The Economist, a magazine, is good for CR (Not geared toward the CR but it will help if you read it weekly.)

Remember that July 21, the second edition of the BB comes out, so you can get that for extra practice.

If you need more practice tests issued by Collegeboard, you can get one off the website for free, you can get the 10 Real SAT’s book (just make sure you negate the parts that no longer apply to the current SAT) and the online SAT Collegeboard section.

Good luck!

Do exactly as Zupchurch says and for more information check out Xiggi’s post about SAT prep, it is very helpful! :)

thx guyz 10char
I don’t the SAT’s are hard. It just needs to be approached in a certain manner.

I’m a sophomore as well. Echoing what zupchurch said, to improve CR… read. Magazines are good, they get you reading weekly. It’s helped me- I read Newsweek weekly, and I did very well on CR on the PSAT last october.
