Some thing I'd like to point out, I have a rare and relatively unknown medical condition called PANDAS. It basically gives me movement and vocal tics kinda like tourettes, but unlike Tourettes, it also gives me really painful headaches. While the symptoms are present all year round, I have noticed that they follow a sinosodial pattern every six months. And as my health fluctuates, so do my grades... In quarters 1&3 , my grades are significantly lower than those in quarters 1&4. Doctors say that the disorder usually wanes away but due to the rare and pun known nature of the disorder, they don't know how long it will take(keeping my fingers crossed!). But yeah I thought that it was kinda important in understanding my grades and my relatively low GPA... Also does any one know if colleges take this kinda stuff into consideration?

Thanks a lot!!!

Stanford
-MIT
-Johns Hopkins (if I choose Biomedical engineering)- match/low reach
-Harvard- high reach
-Caltech- match

Princeton-high reach

Georgia Tech- match

Yale- high reach

I wonder how much bearing would having PANDAS have on admissions… it can help you as it can hurt you. However, Caltech is a reach for just about anyone.

But try the ACT too.

Thanks for your answer! However I was looking more for suggestions on what I should do to reach my schools, rather than if it’s a match or reach. Thanks anyways! Btw, what were the results for MIT and Stanford?

Catria, thanks for your response. Hopefully it wanes away soon so I have a chance to prove my grades. It’ll be a great essay though! I’ll definitely look into the ACT though! Thanks!

I say come back sometime during Junior year and so we can give you better chances. Continue your good work :)
