Sophomore looking for meaningful advice about college. Throw it at me

Hello i am a sophomore at Brien Mcmahon (Norwalk CT). I’m 16 years old and due to my first generation background i want to succeed and pursue my education in college. My current GPA is a 4.0 weighted scale.
Sophomore
Honors US History 94 A
Honors Spanish 2 95 A
Honors English 2 94 A
Geometry 95 A
Biology 8 79 +C ( 100 on a recent test, will bump it up to a solid B+).
Gym A of course.

Next Year Junior Year (Classes already chosen)
AP English 3 , AP Comparative Politics, UCONN Early College Experience French, Algebra 2, Chemistry 8, Sociology 2, Honors Economics, Environmental Science, International Business, Current Issues, SAT Prep Math.

I plan on taking my SAT junior year because i want to apply early decision to my school (Howard University). I also am interested in American and George Washington University.

My clubs are Model United Nations, French Club, NAACP Youth Branch , NAACP State and College Youth Branch, Book Club.
This is just my track resume but can you guys give me any advice on how i should get better and prepare for university. Thanks Guys

Try to get some leadership roles in those clubs, and personally I would take more than two APs junior year, but that’s up to how u think u can do.

I looked up your school and it seems that you can apply for the IB program. I’d look into that if you can.

If I were you, I would switch one of your junior classes to an AP (such as AP Environmental Science) or possibly an IB class (if your school offers it). This will make you look like a more competitive applicant, and taking AP/IB classes as a sophomore will act in your favor.

Thanks. Yeah the Uconn ece courses count as APs but are much more rigorous than the AP class. The IB program starts when i become a senior in 2018, i want to really join it. Thanks for the information
