Hi everyone, I’m currently in school in my sophomore year at a Community College where I ended up because I didn’t take Algebra 2 in High School because I went to a foreign school for a few years, since I was a Military dependent.
My SAT Scores were a solid 1800 (630 Writing, 600 Reading, 570 Math) and my current College GPA is 2.5 but should be right up at 2.9 after this semester, I quit my part time job and I’m just giving it 100% because I want to get into FSU.
My College also offers a Forgiveness policy where you can retake any class and the new grade counts, If I do this and pass two classes that I did poorly in (an F and a D) due to work circumstances with a slightly better grade, I should at the very least have a 3.3 GPA.
Would FSU even accept my “forgiven grade” or is their policy on “all attempted work” factored in, so that it essentially makes my re-try redundant? In a way I’d like to think that even just me showing effort and re-trying would count for something?
The Major I’m pursuing is a foreign language based major which I am fluent in because I lived there for a long time, I have an AP score of 5 and my current college gave me 8 Credits for it. My High School teacher also wrote me a written recommendation saying that in 30 years of teaching said language and living in that country for almost 20, he’d never encountered anyone as proficient as me. Does this help my case at all?
I would really appreciate any help, FSU is my top choice by far and I’m willing to do whatever I have to in order to get there.
Thanks for any input!
