Sophomore SAT -- does it matter?

Do colleges really care about an SAT taken during sophomore year? Especially if it was actually semi-decent (2040)?

Like, will they know that my skills then weren't as developed/honed as they will be in junior/senior year and judge me on that basis? Or do they not care?

They care about ALL your SAT scores even if it was during your sophmore year.Hopefully you can improve.
Good luc; =)

Pre-high school scores don't count.

now, a lot of students take the SAT as 7th grade for various talent stuffs, so I guess that might be taken into consideration, after all, I guess they can see in which year u r taking SAT right?

This wasn't a pre-highschool SAT..but it's still 1-2 years earlier than when people should be taking the SAT...

when people should be taking the SAT...----yeah, but when u talk abt CCers, it's not at all early! lol!

Im a sophomore too and I was just wondering if the colleges will take that as one of the 3 SAT scores you can submit. Because if I take 3 more will it then be averaged or will the first one not count because I took it at a soph?

im pretty sure it doenst matter

I doesn't matter. If it's a so-so score, they'll see it and go "oh. s/he was a sophomore." If it's a good score, congratulations - no junior year SAT!! You're done!!

So unless it's the only - or the best - score you submit, it won't matter.

it shouldn't matter. it may even help you to have taken the SAT so early because colleges will notice your initiative and apparently high level of achievement. the progress you make in the next couple of years will make you shine!

John, wasn't ur post sorta self-incriminative? (lol!) nevermind!

uc and stanford and columbia for that matter take best scores

2040 is a pretty good score for a sophomore. You have plenty of room to improve.
