Do colleges really care about an SAT taken during sophomore year? Especially if it was actually semi-decent (2040)?

Like, will they know that my skills then weren't as developed/honed as they will be in junior/senior year and judge me on that basis? Or do they not care?

now, a lot of students take the SAT as 7th grade for various talent stuffs, so I guess that might be taken into consideration, after all, I guess they can see in which year u r taking SAT right?

Im a sophomore too and I was just wondering if the colleges will take that as one of the 3 SAT scores you can submit. Because if I take 3 more will it then be averaged or will the first one not count because I took it at a soph?

I doesn't matter. If it's a so-so score, they'll see it and go "oh. s/he was a sophomore." If it's a good score, congratulations - no junior year SAT!! You're done!!

So unless it's the only - or the best - score you submit, it won't matter.

it shouldn't matter. it may even help you to have taken the SAT so early because colleges will notice your initiative and apparently high level of achievement. the progress you make in the next couple of years will make you shine!
