Sophomore Schedule Help!

Hi, I am an international student from Argentina, so my English is not good, therefore, I still have to fulfill the Reading Composition requirement. I am currently taking CW R1A. There is a high probability that I will pass the portfolio, therefore, I was planning to phase 1 Women and Gender Studies R1B, but the class is almost full, and my telebears appointment is tomorrow at 2:30 pm. I am now debating whether I should wait for Spring 2014 to take the class or take another class. Some other classes that I am considering to take are Linguistics R1B, Classics R44,Theater Studies R1B, Scandinavia R1B,College Writing R4B and Chicano Studies R1B. Do you guys have any experience with these classes? My plan schedule for now is:
Stats 133(3.0)
Stats 134 (3.0)
Math 110 (4.0)
Thanks for any insight.

Get your R_B requirement done as soon as possible. Figure out other choices that you’re interested in. You really don’t want to leave it until the last semester you can fulfill it.

The rest of your schedule looks fine.

You can see if each department with R&C B courses has instructors’ reading lists for each section, so that you can try to choose an R&C B course with readings that are most interesting to you.

Thanks ucbalumnus and energize. You guys are correct.

Don’t leave your R&C B until the last semester, when you are supposed to take more advanced major classes. I am doing it now and I feel really stressed throughout the semester.

atable. I am facing a common problem as casado. Do you think it will be ok if I wait until phase 2 for an R1B class? Thanks.

These classes always fill up quickly in phase 1, especially the ones with popular teachers listed (and not just “staff”).

Also, the department name and class name are meaningless for R&C. The curriculum and style is set by whoever’s teaching. It’s more useful to do a quick ratemyprofessor search and a required books search if you really want to get a sense of what to expect.

Thank you SplashofScience.
