In my school we have a limit of one AP class, AP US Gov, for sophomore year. We also have the option of taking two sciences, chemistry (juinior requirement) in addition to biology which is a sophomore requirement. I decided to take all three of these classes, because I love government and biology and though I don't love chemistry, I really like math and I think the class will be a challenge, which I wanted for my schedule. Plus, I heard biology and chemistry compliment each other, and taking chemistry right after integrated science might be beneficial. Also, it would be weighted and boost my gpa. And I know many sophomore classes in other schools take chemistry as a requirement, so I don't think it will be over my head. But will it hurt my chances at a great college if I'm not looking to do science? I don't want to seem scattered and doing things just for the credit or appeal. I probably want to double major in finance/economics, and I would love to go to UPenn or Yale, or Bentley as an alternate. This is my sophomore schedule right now. Please let me know what you think.

It’s a strong schedule, but it’s also time consuming. You have to put in a lot of effort into your classes, especially Chem H and Alg 2H because it’s all practice. If you want to get good grades, you need to put in the time. If you can practice and review for your classes and balance your EC’s you should be fine. BTW, things will get frantic near the end of the semester and you will be BUSY. I think you can handle it, and if you push yourself to work hard in class and outside of class, you should have no problem getting straight A’s. I believe that you can succeed in this schedule and good luck bud

@JaeHwanLoL thanks, I will be putting in as much time as possible to ensure I have enough time. School comes first, then exs.

It’s good. My sophomore schedule is

It doesn’t matter if you’re not looking to major in a science, because Bio and Chem are core classes anyways. Sounds like you’re taking the most rigorous schedule possible for someone in your position at your school, so well done. Scheduling is really only important up to that point, and so that it at least somewhat reflects your major during your upperclassmen years, whenever you have the choice (so that’s math and econ in your case).

@ThatOneWeirdGuy yeah I actually had the ability to take an elective which was going to be business law but it’s not weighted and I can still take it later and there were more benefits to taking chem early as opposed to that
