Hey everyone! If anyone can help me I would be so thankful!
High School GPA: 82 (B/B-), CC GPA: 3.96, State School ~ranking 80 GPA: (2 summer classes with a 4.0)
I was in a special program where I took freshmen year classes at the CC and had an automatic transfer over to a pretty decent state school ~ranking 80 for sophomore year. I am part of 5 organizations/clubs including a Debate Team on campus, have two good letters of recommendations from my CC, and am planning on volunteering this summer for an organization or two.
SAT (superscored): 2120, ACT (superscored): 32
That said, I completely turned around my major and career goal to something my college does not offer with Philosophy. I am looking to transfer and my first draft list of schools that have the majors I am looking for are:
- Cornell (CAS)
- Georgetown
- Berkeley
- UWashington St. Louis
- UVA
- Barnard
- Vanderbilt
- USC
- Notre Dame
- Dartmouth
- Brown
- Duke
- Northwestern
- UNC Chapel Hill
I know not all of these accept mid year transfers. So, I don’t know if I should apply as a spring transfer to the ones that do and then fall to the ones that don’t? Or apply as a junior fall transfer to all of them because they might take my HS GPA into account as a sophomore spring student? (is this true?)
My GPA is very high right now so I am wondering if it would maximize my chances to apply as a spring transfer right away rather than risk it going down. Can anyone tell me truthfully what schools I should add/take out or offer any advice with chances before I invest so much time and money?
