I'm going to be a freshman at UCI this fall, but I want Sophomore Standing, which requires a student to have at least 45 units. I have around 42 units from AP tests so I need a couple more to get Sophomore Standing. If I take a class at a community college this summer will the units I gain from that class add to the 42 units I already have so I can get Sophomore Standing in time for choosing classes this fall? Or will it be too late? (the cc classes run from late june to around August 2nd)

Take the FSSP

unless you are attending a late spop (which i do not recommend), you probably will have registered for classes before the cc courses are over. (btw if you have soph. standing you probably wont be able to register for freshman seminars until the end)

are you taking any APs this year that could add to your units?

your standing doesn’t matter for your first quarter registration cause you do it at SPOP. You should be sophomore standing by the time you register for winter…I think. I am pretty sure I was and I came in with 42 units.
That and if you want a freshman seminar and your a first year but Sophomore standing you can get an access code from the counselors so don’t worry about that.
