I'm going into my second year at Stony Brook and I do not have credit for one of my AP tests. I have credit for the other two AP tests I took in senior year (i.e. when they received my scores from the AP board, all three test scores would have been there). I scored above a 3 on the test in question, so that is not the issue. I spoke to an adviser earlier in the year and they said to just wait and it will show up eventually. I need the test to fulfill a DEC requirement. Is it too late to address this issue now? They should still have the paperwork from College Board, right?

Stony Brook may only accept a 4 or 5 on that particular AP test. Which one is it?

Thanks for the reply. It’s AP Studio Art (2D) and the SB website says a grade of 3, 4 or 5 will give credit for DEC G. I got a 4 on the test.

I’m just wondering if they still have the report from College Board on file or if it’s too late

Call and ask.

I tried calling the Transfer Office 3 times this week, got no answer and nobody returned my call, hence my asking here.

I don’t know if the University would still hold a hard copy of your original score report. If you are certain the credit will transfer, it may be easier to obtain a copy from College Board and stop by the office once you are on campus.

Stony Brook keeps records of everything that applies toward graduation for auditing purposes. They get rid of it sometime after you graduate. I would go into the transfer office and ask them about it. It’s always better to deal with people in person.

Have the scores re-sent to us… I apologize for the delay in the transfer office, but they’re swamped these days with Orientation, plus the receptionist down there retired earlier this month.

Keep trying, and if you really can’t get anyone on the phone, try the main admissions phone number (632-6868) and we’ll check to see if the score is in the system.
