Hey Everyone,
I'm thinking of applying to the University of Richmond as a sophomore transfer for fall 2011. If I want to major in business, would I apply directly to the business school or first to the college of arts and science?

Honestly, nothing really stands out for me. You’re taking one business class in your first year, yet you say you want to be a business major?

You would apply to UR, then you’d apply to the B-school (and have no problem getting in). Best of luck to you. Since nothing really pops, make sure you articulate why you want to attend UR, and what you can bring to the school.

Most people don’t even take major-specific courses until their junior year…you have to take the pre reqs first (in this case Calculus) in order to take higher classes (in this case economics). plus there are a lot of basic requirements you have to fulfill…

Guess I started early then. I had 8 knocked out before junior year.

don’t get me wrong, i think that’s great that you got a lot out of the way by junior year, but i don’t think that’s too common. We have a huge list of all these requirements we have to do first before we can even get into the business school.
