I am a current freshman at Cal State Fullerton and I'm looking to transfer to UC Santa Barbara for my sophomore year. I've been doing research about the requirements to transfer but I'm not sure what I need exactly. I've heard I need 30 units and my SAT subject tests but I'm very confused on where to find this information and how to go about getting in. Help!

I don’t think you can transfer from csu to uc after 1 year, you need to make the app after your first year and enter as a junior.

UCs give the lowest priority to transfer applicants from CSUs, even lower than transfers from out of state four year colleges, and reject nearly all transfer applicants from CSUs. The Master Plan for California Hire Education mandates that UCs accept transfers who did their first two years at CCCs, rather than CSUs. CSU students are deemed to have chosen a fundamentally different route to a four year degree and have different career objectives than students who went to UCs as freshmen or spent their first two years at a CCC before transferring to a UC.

Your only realistic chance of transferring to a UC is to drop out of CSU Fullerton and enroll at a CCC with the objective of transferring from the CCC to a UC as a junior.

yup, counselors should have conveyed this to students better
