Sophomore Transfer Question! asap

Hey everyone!
I just joined to ask this because I have no clue and I need to make a decision by Monday and the Admissions office is closed until then!

Alright so i just got done with my first year at Syracuse University- Newhouse School of Communications.

i applied for transfer to NYU's CAS and I got in.

However, I want to still do film.

Can i go to NYU next year for a year and then eventually transfer into Tisch?
Is that possible? Or can transfer students not transfer into tisch once they are already there?

let me know please! thanks so much.

I do not work for NYU or Tisch – but found the following on the Tisch website:

How do I transfer from another division of NYU to Tisch?

“If you are a student from another division of NYU (e.g., CAS, GSP, Stern, Gallatin, Steinhardt), you can pick up an internal transfer application form at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 22 Washington Square North. Students must be enrolled in the division to which they were originally admitted for one full year before they may transfer to another division.”

It appears that this information may be from 2009 admissions cycle? So you should contact the school to confirm. The information does not appear to be transfer student specific, but does not appear to exclude transfer students either.

One of my friends transferred from LSP to Tisch, and she’s having to take summer classes to catch up. As a rising sophomore wanting to transfer in to Tisch as a junior, I’m not sure if it’s possible; if so, you would probably have to take a decent load of summer classes.

summer classes are fine with me, as long as it is actually allowed and im not told i cant do it due to being a transfer student. Do you think that will happen?

Also, I spent at year at Newhouse so i MIGHT place out of some lower level production classes
