Sophomore transfer to UNC-Chapel Hill?

am currently a freshmen at UNC-Greensboro, majoring in Biology (BS), with a concentration in premed. I have a couple of questions about the transfer process.
However, here are my high school stats...

3.99 weighted high school gpa, 1520/2400 sat score (yes I know it's low!), took 6 ap classes, AP Scholar, lettermen in swimming, Eagle Scout, lifeguard as a part time job year round (still employed), played travel ice hockey, was also in a few clubs, ..blah blah.

College stats thus far: 3.3 gpa first semester, I know it needs to be higher. I'm still a lifeguard, don't play travel ice hockey anymore, and certainly don't swim competitively anymore. Including this spring semester I will have 45 credit hours: 16 first semester, 14 this semester, and 15 ap credit hours.

My questions are should I retake the sat? (I don't want to) Will my ap credit hours transfer over to chapel hill? Lastly, do I stand a chance?

bump…

Don’t retake the SAT but do concentrate on raising your gpa. Some of your AP credits may transfer to UNC, depending on what you scored on them. UNC may require higher AP scores than UNCG does for credit. Write an honest essay as to why UNC is a better fit for you than UNCG. My daughter transferred into Carolina as a sophomore and it was a great decision for her…good luck!

My daughter hopes to transfer to UNC as a sophomore this fall - she was deferred, then waitlisted last fall. What do you think helped your daughter get in as a sophomore transfer?

Sadheel, I was deferred and waitlisted as a senior in high school last year too, and am thinking of re-applying!
