Sophomore Transfer

Was not accepted into Pomona College in the RD round, several questions.

1.) Am I able to transfer after my freshman year at the college I plan on attending this upcoming year (Duke University).

2.) I understand that Pomona students during their freshman year are assigned an almost "second" family - is transferring to begin your sophomore year a social impossibility?

3.) What are the statistics for transfer students from the past year?

4.) Is it possible for me to be accepted even after being rejected initially?

5.) Care to share any information you know about Pomona College transfers? Anything is valuable.

Thanks

I think I can help with #2, my daughter was a sponsor her sophomore year, I remember her telling me that one of the sponsor groups was dedicated to transfer students new to Pomona. They have the same bonding experience as the freshman. I can’t help with the other questions.

D was a sponsor for transfers/exchange students. There were only ten students total, half of which were transfers. The number of transfers accepted fluctuates but it’s pretty low (there’s only one sponsor group of transfers/exchanges).

Good luck!
