Hi! I’m currently considering applying to transfer to Tulane next fall and I was wondering how others transfer experiences have been. I really dont fit in here at my current school and was wondering if it was difficult to make friends at Tulane/get involved as a transfer student
It was fairly easy to make friends and get involved once I transferred. I think it all depends on who you are and how willing you are to get out of your comfort zone. I went to a lot of club meetings and met a lot of the people I know in class. Also, Tulane has a Transfer Mentor program that lasts through the first semester, where you meet with transfer students once a month and have food and get advice about how to enjoy your first semester. That said, I do think it’s imperative to note that you won’t have instant friends anywhere you go. Making friends takes time, especially because transfer students usually live off campus. Of course, it depends on how outgoing you are and whether you go to a lot of events, but it’s definitely possible to make friends!
Just got admitted as a potential incoming sophomore transfer w. merit money, anyone know if there’s a FB group etc for Tulane?
@bvbchamps There is a facebook group, it’s titled “Tulane Class of 2022”!
@bvbchamps Hey I applied too, but haven’t heard back yet. When did you hit submit on your application?
@jdizz13 submitted it Jan 25th
@bvbchamps There is a FB group specifically for transfers, too! It’s called Tulane Transfer Students - Spring and Fall 2019.
