Sophomore vs. Junior

I'm willing to transfer the school whether in my sophmore or junior year.

Since my HS grade is not good(3.6/4.0 UW) and SAT score is pretty low..

I'm not sure I should do my best on my first semester in freshman yr and
take SAT once again and apply as sophomore

OR do best in at least more than a yr in college and more ECs and apply as
Junior to cover up my HS records (even I have to stick with my first college for 2 yr..)

I'm willing to apply Pomona, Reed, U of MI-AnnArbor, Cornell... as psy major.

What's ur opinion ??

Plz feel free to tell me any of ur thoughts or ideas!!!

You really should check the websites of the schools that you are interested in transferring to. For most schools, once you have 30 college credits (or more) then they aren’t interested in your high school record or SATs.

Because of the timing of when applications for the fall are due, I think a lot of transferees who are worried about their high school records might be better off applying to transfer for Spring of their sophomore year. That way, they’ll have college grades for 2 full semesters and not have to submit high school results.

Plus – and this is just my theory; I have no proof – I wonder if it is easier to get in as a Spring transfer because there is less competition than in the Fall? I think some schools don’t accept Spring transfer though. But again, your best bet is checking their websites.

“I’m willing to apply …”

You should find some schools you really like; being willing is just a step above being dragged kicking and screaming. :)
