Sophomore w 3.86 GPA?

Right now I am sophomore in high school and my GPA after freshman year is a 3.86 and weighted it is a 4.32. Based on how I am doing in school now, I am predicting that the most amount of B’s I can get this year will be around 2, and if I allow myself to have 2 more B’s in junior year, my unweighted GPA will be either a 3.76 or a 3.72 depending on whether or not gym is counted or if I take classes over the summer. This year I have taken all honors classes except for Spanish and art because they are not available at my level, and I didn’t take Biology or Spanish honors last year. There are no AP classes at my level available, but I am a year ahead in math and could possibly end up taking Multiviariable Calculus my senior year ( I am in Pre-Calc Honors right now). Hopefully my GPA will be around a 3.8 and possible a 3.9. I have a good amount of ECs and a lot of volunteering that I am passionate about (I don’t have a laundry list, just a couple sports and Relay for Life, Red Cross, Church volunteering, and a couple other small things). My sister was able to get a 35 on her ACT and if I study similarly to how she did I assume that that is a possibility as well for me. My school is highly competitive though, and I have no idea what my rank is since my school does not give rank. I am worried that my possibly low 3.7 GPA could hurt my chances of getting into an Ivy. Any suggestions or thoughts?

BTW I am an African American female, with a legacy at Princeton. Also have talent in art.

No real chances without actual test scores. But you’re on the right track! Just keep working hard and stay passionate about the ECs that interest you. Admission officers don’t like to see people with “loaded” applications that have 20 clubs and 800 hours of service lol.

Okay thanks. Hopefully soon I will have my PSAT which will help to better project my test scores. I also am planning on starting a Black Student Union at my school. Is that the type of leadership and passion that the most competitive schools want to see?
