Sophomore who wants to go to NYU? (:

-My school is terrible. They only have honors for the core academic subjects like English, Social Studies, Math, and Science. In fact, after sophomore year, there are no more math honors classes, and there are no science honors after junior year. They have a few AP courses on the Virtual High School program, but if I did that, it would take up two entire classes. I’m not sure if this will affect my chances but it’s not my fault if these things aren’t offered to me. :/

-For your SAT Subject Tests, you should pick two tests that relate to what you want to go to college for.

-My school also offers dual-enrollment at the local community college, but for a price. It also takes up half of the school day and will interfere with some of the courses I would like to take in my senior year such as Career Management, Sociology, and Spanish Four.

-And since you would like to keep in contact, I sent a friend request thing on here from your profile. I have no idea how this site works, so forgive me if I made any mistakes lol. I also agree that it’s a good idea to drop some clubs and stay devoted to a few. I read somewhere that it actually looks better to colleges and opens up more leadership opportunities.

the school report that your high school sends to NYU will tell them how many APs and I believe how many honors courses are offered. NYU should take this into consideration when they look at the courses you’ve taken.

Aw…well it really shouldn’t matter much. The amount of classes that are honors and AP that your school offers is a big factor that colleges should take into account so if you took as many as you could…it’s fine.

haha I have no idea how this thing works either so I’ll have to figure out how to accept your friend request thing lol
