Sophomore with little EC's

I'm a sophomore in my last quarter of the year. My grades are pretty high (3.82 GPA, weighted at 4.0), however that's the only thing I have to go on. (I'm in the honors classes)

I have a Student of the Month Award (But to be frank, my school gives out 30 a month, 1 for each class. I so happened to get my award in AP World History).

I'm a member of the French Club at my school, I want to run for president next year, however I have no "position of power" as of right now, and obviously my win is a chance, not a definite.

I'm starting to volunteer around the community, gotta talk to the staff at the YMCA (Will do this on Tuesday, when they're in office).

But other than that, I have nothing under my belt. Am I screwed for college? I'm not shooting at the Ivies, but merely moderately respectable universities (For instance UW and BU).

Also, any tips on what I should spend my last 2 years of high school getting involved in, that would look good on my app?

Thanks in advance,
Alexander M.

I think you’re fine. The number of schools where ECs really matter is very low.

With that said, it never hurts to find an interest and pursue it. That might improve your life anyway.

i feel ya but it’s hard to volunteer when you can’t drive and both of your parents work high-stress jobs

why not try student council or national honor society?

Alex, which colleges are you aiming for? And remember, the Depth of your EC’s, not the quantity of the EC’s, matters to colleges (And for your well-being.)

feel free to message me or something-I will be very willinh to help you pave your road to your future.

^oops.

major blooper on my part. :o

but, yea. just do what you are currently doing-keep your grades up, be passionate about your EC’s, and do well in your SAT’s. . .
