Sophomore Year

As a Sophomore in high school I did not take the AP exam for world history. However, I passed the class with flying colors and I have taken many other AP classes since and taken all the exmas with them. Will not taking one exam kill me?

I didn't take any AP exams and I still got into Cornell.

Did you take any AP classes, and then just not take the exams or did your school just not offer AP classes all together?

Let me assure you, it will not have a big impact. They will consider it, but it will not be the deciding factor in your admissions decision. Colleges understand there can be circumstances stopping you from doing something like an AP exam.

What do you base that off of, experiemce with the issue? I;m not trying to discredit you or be rude I'm just looking for why you arte saying this. Thanks.

I know that in the college admissions process, something as one dimensional as not taking an AP exam will not have an enormous effect. If the other aspects of your application are all ok, then you have nothing to worry about. If you truly feel that it is an issue, you should send them a letter of explanation on why you did not take it. Do you have a good reason for not taking it?

They didn't ask for the AP exam grades, did they?

You could have put scores in "additional information" or sent them directly from collegeboard, as I did.

My school offered AP classes for stuff like history, English, and economics. But I didn't want to both taking the exams for them since I never had any intention on placing out of any college courses.

there ARE ppl who took some AP classes, opted to not take the exam, and still made it through admissions and got accepted?

Why, may I ask, didn't you take it?

We had to take these qualifying tests, I didn't really worry about because I had one of the higest grades in the class. You have to pass 2 out of 3, and I passed one...

it doesn't matter, i know several people at Cornell who had 6+ AP classes in high school and who never took the test for any of them or who failed the test for all of them. i didnt take the test for 4 of my APs. they won't care
