<p>About 25% of women at MIT choose to join sororities, so a fairly sizable part of the MIT population is involved. </p>
<p>I wasn’t affiliated myself, and I’m not sure that anyone who regularly posts here is affiliated. Most of my friends on the cheerleading squad were affiliated, and they seemed to enjoy the sorority experience by and large. Many of them were close friends with guys in a particular frat, so they would hang out at that frat and attend all the social events, but it’s not necessary to be in a sorority to do so.</p>
