Sororities and Fraternities

Can someone give me an in-depth description of the top tier sororities and fraternities at syracuse and the reputations of each, like top three and what they are known for?

Sororities:
My list goes

  1. Tri delta or Kappa Kappa Gamma- they are equally great
these two are the most popular. Tri delta are known to have fun. They are also known to be blonde, potential models and designers…lol even from their appearance you can tell that they are pretty. One person told me that they are snobbish but i don’t think they are. very close-knit group.
Kappa’s are bold, confident, leaders. Also pretty girls. More outgoing than delta delta delta but they are usually considered the number one sorority.
  2. Kappa Alpha theta - great. nothing much…i like them
  3. Alpha Phi - people think they are quite snobbish. To be honest if you don’t know them, they appear to be but once you get to know them, they aren’t as bad.
  4. Delta Gamma- chilled, laid back.
  5. Alpha Xi Delta- They are very chill

I recommend joining a sorority if you’re in syracuse. I’m not in one but i have friends in them and they’re really awesome. Just be confident and don’t be nervous

Unfortunately the list up is my own list and they are the most popular sororities. there are more but I don’t know them as much

i also don’t know too much about the fraternities but the popular ones and the fun ones are.

1.Sigma Alpha mU- great Parties
2. Sigma Alpha Epsilon
3.Delta Kappa Epsilon- known to be kinda snobbish but I have friends there who are great so i’m biased.
4.Zeta beta tau- PARTIESS
5. Theta chi
6.Sigma Phi Epsilon

They are also my favourites and the popular ones. There are many more great ones.
i’ll update this when i think of anything more

^^^hahahaha…I find your ranking hilarious…

Parent of an SU Tri-Delt…

actually no im not…those ranking are based on popularity and on some student opinions. all the sororites are great. obviously it depends on the connection that each individual feels to a sorority. I forgot to add Pi Phi which also has lovely girls who are more down to earth than the other sororities but some people think they are awkward only because some of them haven’t got the looks like the kappa’s or the tri-delts or thetas.

^I would try to stay away from giving descriptions of specific frats and sororities on campus. This is something pre-froshs just have to know FIRST HAND if they choose to rush.

It’s not fair to greeks and certainly isn’t fair to pre-froshs when you don’t allow them to form their own opinions when they arrive on campus.

Thank you alberta! very helpful and honest :)

What is Phi Sig like at syracuse? At my school its top tier and I absolutely love it, no drama! but I might be transferring and heard some rumors.

I’m going to be transferring to syracuse soon either this spring as a first year or next fall as a second. Will it be difficult to join a sorority as a second year considering the loss of quality time?
