I was wondering how common is it for a pre-med major to be in a sorority or frat? Are they successful in both? Is it hard to balance both? Thank you.

Although I'm not pre-med or in Greek life, I don't believe the combination is uncommon or particularly difficult to balance. If you are interested in both, go ahead.

I was in a sorority in college and can tell you that we had a huge span of majors within the group. I knew several pre-med majors. A girl who was a year behind me recently completed a combined MD/Ph.D. program. We had engineering majors, pre-med, pre-law, pre-pharmacy, various forms of business, etc. There might be semesters that are harder on you than others but most national sororities have an option where you can apply to go inactive for a semester and not be held to required events if you are carrying a heavy load.
