Hey I was wondering what the sorority scene at Pepperdine looked like. I've been researching all of the sororities and they all seem pretty good to me. Are there any really good ones and any not so good ones? Also can anyone tell me all the sorority reputations?

@caligirl07: Greek life is felt heavily throughout the school and each sorority/fraternity is backed by the university, meaning there are GPA requirements for you to remain in whichever sorority you decide to rush for (I think the minimum GPA is 2.5)–they’re pretty strict about this. I don’t know if you’ve read up on the Greek system at Pepperdine on the student government site since Pepperdine’s Greek system isn’t “traditional” (ie: we don’t have Greek housing, etc.) Here are a couple links you can look into:

@ejcmalibu: Thank you for the information. I’ve looked on both sites and found some very helpful information. I was wondering are you a student at Pepperdine? If so, do you know anything about the sororities reputations??

If i do end up going to pepperdine i would def join a sorority just due to the fact he school is sooo small. and I am sure I would rather have a fall back friend group and support

@caligirl07: I am a current student at Pepperdine and though I am not in a sorority myself I know plenty of people who have decided to join. I agree with ellomeno that joining a sorority here at Pepperdine is by far the best way to meet new people, be ready to dedicate a lot of your time to all the philanthropic events each sorority hosts! There are about one or two formals (winter and spring) throughout the year. As far as reputation goes, each sorority obviously stands for different purposes outlined on the sites I linked you to; on campus there’s a good handful of people from every sorority so it’s not like one stands out more or is more “popular” than others. All in all, the girls from each sorority I’ve met are genuine and well-rounded :-).

I can second what ejcmalibu said. They’re all slightly different, but all of them have quality girls. Definitely rush!
