<p>i am a freshman and i am wondering what the benefits/disadvantages are of being in a sorority on campus</p>

you would be a part of the greek scene and everything that comes associated with that:</p>
<ul>
<li>stereotypes, superficial, cost of membership, hazing…</li>
<li>social involvement, networking, parties, cool factor…</li>
</ul>
<p>sororities basically guarantee you to have a party ever weekend, whether its at your house or somewhere else. </p>
<p>you will have lots of girls to become friends with</p>
<p>you will have lots of community service and activities to do all year</p>
<p>However, its Santa Barbara… does anyone really need help going to a party? especially a girl?</p>
