How big is Greek Life at Stanford? Is it really prominent? What percent of a class is involved?

From what I can tell, there isn't much of a greek scene at all. The students who do participate do so for the nicer housing.

Hmm, the people I know who are in sororities and fraternities because of the friendship/partying/all the good stuff. This is especially true for those who are in unhoused sororities or fraternities. I don't know what percent of a class is involved in Greek Life... I guess I would say that there's a decent amount of people involved, but it's not dominant. You can stay away or be a part of it easily.

13% of students are involved in Greek life. You can't rush until the end of freshman year, so that means that about 17% of upperclassman are in Greek life. There are three housed sororities and seven housed fraternaties. There are also several unhoused fraternaties and sororities (I think it's 8 each) for a total of 26 sororities and fraternaties.
